Volunteering Workshop logo

This is an exciting workshop organised in partnership with Volunteering England and Youthnet, which will enable your organisation to use London 2012 to create and promote new Games-inspired volunteering opportunities.

The workshop is for volunteer involving organisations that are looking for new ways to promote volunteering to local people. The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are major events and these workshops are designed to make sure everyone can play a part in the 2012 Games without having to leave their communities.

Why should your organisation come to the workshop?

  • To increase the number and diversity of volunteers within your organisation.

  • It’s an easy tangible way for your organisation to use the power of the 2012 Games volunteering legacy simply by creating Games inspired opportunities.

  • It’s not just about sport! The arts and cultural sectors are also highlighted through the Cultural Olympiad and the 2012 Games are aiming to be the first sustainable ‘green’ Games - so there will need to be lots of volunteering opportunities for people who don’t like sport.

  • It’s completely free of charge thanks to funding from Volunteering England, Youthnet and the Cabinet Office.

The workshop will focus on giving you support, advice and inspiration to develop Games inspired opportunities and furthermore tailor the support to your organisation to market your new opportunities on the do-it website. These opportunities will form the backbone of the 25th Hour campaign, which aims to inspire hundreds of thousands of people throughout the country to give time to volunteer before, during and after the Games in their local communities.

Please complete the event booking form, which can be downloaded in Related Documents (right) and return to secure your place on the workshop.

The workshop is limited in numbers so we would encourage an early response.
