Dancing for the Games

Dancing for the Games is a programme inspired by London 2012 that aims to get people across the West Midlands dancing

Who is it aimed at and how can I get involved?

The programme is aimed at inspiring people of all ages, skills and abilities to make dance part of their everyday lives.

Funded by Legacy Trust UK, Arts Council England West Midlands and Advantage West Midlands, Dancing for the Games has begun and is looking to commission a broad and diverse range of dance and dance related activity across the region, and we are asking organisations or collectives of individuals with strong links to their community to use their ideas and energy to develop innovative approaches to extending opportunities to more people.

We have already commissioned a number of projects across the region, but we are still looking for a mix of large, high impact projects designed specifically to respond to local needs. Engaging young people in the design and development of the activities is an integral part of the programme.

The programme runs until 2012 and we have two remaining rounds of comissioning bids in 2011 - on the 4 February and 8 July 2011.
